The Story

Who is Mistleaf?

I'm a reader who fell in love with Chinese web novels — the epic scope, the slow-burn cultivation arcs, the found-family dynamics buried inside 2,000-chapter behemoths. But so many of the stories I wanted to read had no English translations, or had been abandoned halfway through.

So I started learning to translate them myself. Silk Road Translation is where I post the results.

My goal isn't to be the fastest translator — it's to produce something that reads like it was written in English rather than assembled from a dictionary. I spend extra time on idioms, cultural references, and anything that would read awkwardly if translated literally.

How often do you release chapters?

My target is 2–3 chapters per week for active projects. Ko-fi supporters get advance chapters 1–2 weeks ahead of public release.

How do I get advance chapters?

Support on Ko-fi at the Forest Wanderer ($5/mo) or Moonlit Patron ($10/mo) tier. Advance chapters are posted directly on Ko-fi as supporters-only posts.

Will you finish this novel?

I only pick up novels I genuinely want to finish. That said, life happens — if I ever need to drop a project, I'll announce it clearly and try to hand it off to another translator.

Can I re-post your translations?

Please don't repost without permission. You're welcome to link to chapters here. If you want to use translations for a specific purpose, reach out to me on Discord.

How do I report a translation error?

Leave a comment on the chapter or ping me on Discord. I genuinely appreciate correction — accuracy matters to me.
